How the quiz works

  • The first row in Excel is the header row.
  • Every next row becomes one question in the quiz.
  • If your file has 1 question, the app will run a 1-question quiz.
  • If your file has 10 questions, the app will run all 10 in order.
  • Each question uses 4 answers, 1 correct answer, and a time limit.
  • Weight multiplies the points earned for that question (default 1).
  • It also supports a 2-sheet workbook: Sheet 1 = questions, Sheet 2 = choices, matched by row number.
  • The Question cell can include basic HTML or a table, so financial questions with tables can display correctly.
  • Sheet 1 can also use an "Item / Question / Amount" layout: a bold section header row, then shared data rows (label + one or more values), then numbered question rows — the shared data shows above each question that uses it.

Excel format

Use the first row as headers exactly like this:

Tip: the correct answer can be entered as the correct text (for example, “Paris”) or as a letter such as “A”, “B”, “C”, or “D”. You can also enter time as seconds like 20 or minutes:seconds like 1:30. Weight is optional and defaults to 1 — it multiplies the points earned for that question.
